Let’s look at the Bible: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednago versus King Nebuchadnezzar. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednago refuse to bow down to the mighty King Nebuchadnezzar so he throws them into the fiery furnace thus killing a bunch of his soldiers in the process because yeah, the enormous oven is really that smoking hot. And what happens? Shadrach, Meshach and Abendago do not walk out alive like nothing ever happened, they don’t even feel the heat and oh, would you look at that, they get to chill with a mysterious glowing person. Case point #1.
Too ancient? Okay, let’s take a more recent case then: King Henry VIII. Imagine if we all pledged a greater allegiance to him before the Church. I mean, our some of our basic moral principles would have been totally bulldozed in the process! Forget about the church, is any morally sane person going to want it to be legal for their brothers to marry their wives? Wait, does this mean the Anglican Church agrees to this kind of thing? Because it says in our Sejarah books that King Henry VIII was the head of the Anglican Church…
I don’t see how this limited and one-sided approach to knowledge is going to get us anywhere in the world. I mean, I don’t deny the facts that there was this one point in history where the Catholic Church was fat, old and corrupt but what about the rest of it? Really, it’s a beautiful religion in nature if you would actually care to explain it like you do Islam, which is actually a beautiful religion too.
If only our stupid textbook would actually abide to some of their nice principles of humility and meekness and not whacking other people’s religions then maybe we’d see more of it.
Seriously; if our government had any sense they’d write us a new book and
Even if it means getting scorned at open houses because I absolutely insist on reusing my polystyrene cup.
